What Astrology Reveals About America’s Future – A Comprehensive Perspective By Constance Stellas

I am lucky to be an astrologer because I hear so many stories and work with people trying to make sense of their lives as well as the current global picture. Usually most of the stories I hear are concerned with personal career choices, relationships, family matters, of course, health, and economic concerns. However, in the past 2 years I have started hearing different types of stories and questions.
Many begin with “You are going to think I am weird” and end with “What Is going on?” People feel weird, they say, because they are confused about the barrage of information they hear, suspect everything, and feel unsure that anything is positive and helpful. Many say they are not sleeping well and report having fragmented dreams that feel dark and dangerous. They say “I feel like nothing works anymore. Everything feels wrong. The world is meaningless, and I don’t see what I am doing here.” Clearly, we are in an anxious time.
Let me suggest a different way to look at these unquiet questions and the time we are living through. My data are neither graphs, pie charts, nor statistics. After studying the connections between the planets, the Sun, and the Moon for over 25 years I am confident that these heavenly bodies as they orbit through the zodiac have a remarkable and sometimes startling effect on human behavior and events.
Astrology keeps me in touch with cycles and patterns that astrologers have studied for over 3000 years. Paying attention to the BIG PICTURE in the cosmos, the repeating cycles and patterns of the planets, can bring us some perspective and hope for the future.
The patterns that are influencing this period involve transits of the transpersonal planets: the planets that are furthest from the Sun (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). You may take these planetary descriptions as metaphors, myths, or energetic influences affecting life on earth.
The planet Saturn symbolizes the ancient god, Chronos, god of tasks, structure, time, as well as responsibility. Pluto or Hades, god of the underworld, rules death, decay, and corruption. Pluto also rules rebirth and transformation. Saturn organizes the structures of society and Pluto symbolizes energy which turns life upside down, wipes away the “norm” and sets us on a course toward enlightened transformation.
Pluto’s realm is not casual. He reveals the darkness which is hidden. When Pluto is active in our personal lives, we undergo deep emotional and psychological changes. Pluto forces us to examine our own decay, hate, power mongering, and death. Since 2019 Saturn and Pluto have been conjunct, meaning connected, in the sign of Capricorn. These two outer planets affect us personally but also generationally and globally. And the U.S. is the direct recipient of Pluto’s challenging transformative thrust.
The birth horoscope of the US is July 4,1776 and the position of Pluto in this chart is 27 degrees 33 minutes of Capricorn. Pluto in the heavens is currently at 26 degrees 26 minutes of Capricorn and will form an exact conjunction to the U.S. Pluto position on February 22, 2022. This is called a Pluto Return and does not happen frequently and never to individuals as Pluto’s orbit takes 200 years or more.
As the U.S. undergoes its Pluto Return the power structure the country was founded on is coming to the light of day. We see where it has been effective, where it has been cruel and prejudiced, and where it needs transformation. The controversy is not one party platform vs another nor one country vs another. This period offers a mandate from the depths of our collective experience to readjust priorities and transform the U.S. if not the world.
Pluto’s mission is unleashing Power that Transforms and this means more than passing a bill, creating more funding, and administering vaccines. Pluto demands a spiritual transformation to change our focus from Me and My World, to Me Within the Whole World. And transformation don’t come easy. There are other planetary influences operating currently that impede progress by holding on to an old way, the normal way, the way we always did things: but these are forces of NON transformation and not what Pluto demands.
Another important planetary pattern concerns Uranus. Uranus, the planet symbolizing out-of-the-box creative intuitive thinking is busily influencing cyber space, electrical energy, challenging the airwaves and creating chaos where people or institutions are resistant to change. Presently and until July 2025 Uranus is in the sign of Taurus, a change resistant sign. Uranus cannot express its “mission” easily in Taurus. There is an underlying tug of war between the forces of change and forces that want things to remain the same. Uranian energy is the lightning strike that blows up standard complacency and replaces it with innovative solutions.

COVID has dominated the global scene for 2 years now. In the US we are creeping out of the shadow; other parts of the world are still battling for the health and life of their citizens. As I mentioned my data from the planets come to a different conclusion than the positivity rate, or the decline in hospital admissions. The planets tell me that COVID is an effect not a cause; an effect engendered by unbalanced power relations in the U.S., negligence of nature, greed, and a medical system that often puts profit ahead of healing. I call this the patina of COVID. The virus is highlighting the major concerns of contemporary life: climate, natural resources, economy, social relations, and health.
Neptune is the next outer planet influencing us. Neptune, also called Poseidon, god of the seas, is a vague, spiritually inclined, or illusory influence when in contact with personal planets. Without grounding Neptune clouds our thinking and makes us prey to movements, cults, groups of people who dominate under the guise of spiritual treacle.
Neptune rules drugs also spiritual ecstasy without drugs. Neptune can confuse the mind and easily lead to beliefs in conspiracy theories because the rational mind wants reasons to explain COVID or the present unrest and divisiveness that surround us. Neptune’s influence at the best is altruistic and compassionate urging people to believe in dreams and at the worse delusional and escapist.
However, Neptune is currently in her ruling sign, Pisces, and will remain there until 2026. This is a harmonious placement and can encourage the best qualities of the planet’s mission. Those qualities are love and compassion for the least fortunate and equality for all. Pisces can be altruistic and sensitive to the energetic environment, the Cosmic Agitation, we are living through right now. And as we saw amid COVID lockdowns there were numerous people who set up food pantries, free stores, made a point to visit the elderly, and helped. The U.S government also helped by extending unemployment, providing small business loans, and eviction protection.
These are examples of structures blessed by Neptunian ideals and which make a difference. We shall see as the immediate threat recedes if compassion and helpfulness remain. In the coming decade I believe that Neptune will gently influence us to believe in and act on social concerns and protections for everyone because the message of this vital transformation is….we sink or swim together.
Returning to my clients and the weird stories they tell me; I think they are not weird at all. They are experiences and feelings that reflect the upheaval we are experiencing and prepare people for a new way of thinking, being and acting. Be weird is my advice. Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are pulling us along to a different and better future. Each of these planets offers the possibility of great knowledge and change; change always requires action and thinking in a new way. Transformation may not come easily but it will come.
